Debutant Ibrahim Olawoyin has hailed the quality in the Super Eagles camp as preparations gear up for the crucial clash against South Africa.
The senior national team hosts their South African counterpart on Friday as the struggle for the 2026 World Cup ticket resumes.
According to the Turkey-based player, there is an all-around quality in the squad, and most of the players are the best in their various clubs.
In his words, "Its really different, its all-round quality players with best players from the clubs they are coming from, so it's really great, and this will make me much more better.
"I will surely give my best because it's a privilege wearing this jersey because we are representing the whole nation so I will surely give my best."
Reacting to his first call to the national team, he said, "I feel so amazing, like, I feel great about this. It's a big privilege for me, which I will cherish for life, for a long time. I really appreciate this and it's a great feeling for me.
"It came as a surprise for me. But I am so happy it finally came, and I'll be looking forward to getting a chance if given to me and try to prove myself."
Reflecting on the just-concluded season with Turkish Süper Lig club Çaykur Rizespor, the midfielder said he had a good season.
"It was a fantastic season for me, and I am really happy about that. We started the season not so bad also I was gradually getting better in league. The second half of the season was much better for me. I could get 8 goals and 3 assists and lots of great performances all round. I am grateful for that." He told NFF TV.
