Petit forward, Uchenne Eze, scored twice, one in each half as Ozalla FA came from behind to edge past Obosi Utd 3-1 in the first fixture of match day two of the 2024 Anambra FA Chairman's U17 Boys Football tournament at the Eziowelle Civic Center, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Obosi Utd went in front just four minutes after kick off when Ozalla shot-stopper incredibly 'vomited' a rather harmless kick, allowing an advancing forward, Muotanya to poke into the empty net.

The Ikenna Osueke Boys, who are also Neros/Anambra FA Cup holders, refused to lose their shape and confidence, stroking the ball to one another in an enthralling orchestra to the delight of the large stands.

Uchenna Eze drew Ozalla level late into the first period while Nzube Francis fetched the second midway into the second half as the 'Barca Boys' went into the lead for the first time in the game.

Ozalla FA, had a goal appeal in the first segment waved away when the ball hit the underneath of the crossbar and dropped on the line, buying Ozalla to claim it crossed the line. The Match arbiter however, stuck to his gun.

Eze completed his brace on the sunny afternoon when he came to the finishing point of a delightful passing move with a sumptuous finish.

The competition is being played on knock-out bases and will continue on Wednesday with the second round fixtures.

Overall winners of the tournament will pocket half-a- million naira while the runners-up and third placed team will receive N300, 000 and N200, 000 respectively.
