Sunday Dare Urge Nigerians to Embrace Flexible Payment Plan for CNG Conversion Introduced by President Tinubu
Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has called on Nigerians to take advantage of the flexible payment plan introduced by President Tinubu’s administration for the conversion of vehicle engines to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
In a series of tweets on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Chief Dare highlighted that both the United States and Europe have long embraced alternative energy sources such as electric vehicles. He noted that the flexible payment plan provided by the Nigerian government would ease the transition for Nigerians from expensive Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to CNG.
"I have been an early convert to the CNG option which President Tinubu approved as a national policy from the get-go. It’s forward-thinking. America and Europe have embraced electric cars as alternatives to expensive PMS. Let’s embrace CNG. The Convert Now, Pay Later option should turn into a national campaign immediately," Dare tweeted.
He also emphasized the benefits of CNG beyond transportation, advocating for its use in electricity generation and heating, similar to its application in the United States and Europe.
"The Convert Now, Pay Later initiative by the Federal Government is a brilliant and pragmatic option in these times. Nigerians should be jamming the portal gocng.ng for an easy online application and quick approval process. Let’s go the CNG way," he added.
Chief Dare expressed confidence that the initiative would place Nigeria on a sustainable energy path, benefitting both the economy and the environment.
