A GREAT IROKO HAS FALLEN.

The OLAR-AJA (KING STEPHEN OMAREJUWA MIKIE) OF THE JAKPA COMMUNITY HAS JOINED HIS ANCESTORS.

The Jakpa Community has officially announced the demise of His Majesty, King Stephen Omarejuwa Mikie who was until his death, the Olar-aja of Jakpa Community, a riverine community in Delta State.

In a statement signed by Oristemajemite Oniyesan Mikie for the family, the Olar-aja of the Jakpa community who joined his ancestors reigned for 26 years.

During his reign, the community experienced an excellent level of development. The great king was known for upholding the traditions of the land, which brought peace and unity to all.

The late King is survived by his wife, the OLORI (Christy Oma Mikie), and two sons, Laju O.J Mikie and Meshack T. Mikie.

The statement added that the traditional burial rite will commence immediately as the crown prince (Laju O.J Mikie) will be prepared traditionally to succeed his late father's throne.

The community and general public will be notified of the burial arrangements by the family.
