Vice President Kashim Shettima don talk say no be by force or intimidation person dey take win Nigeria presidency, as he stress say leadership for country wey get plenty tribes and religions need unity and acceptance from everybody.

 

Shettima yarn dis one while he dey talk about political atmosphere for di country. According to am, anybody wey wan lead Nigeria must build connections and carry people along, instead of using fear or lies.

 

“In a multi-ethnic, multi-religious politics like our own, nobody fit bulldoze him way enter power through deceit, lies, intimidation, threats or blackmail. Na by building bridges and reaching out you go take get power,” he talk.

 

Di Vice President still show support for idea of South-East producing Nigeria president, say e go help heal old wounds from civil war. But he no hide him mind as he criticize some methods wey some groups dey use.

 

“I dey support South-East president to heal di wounds of di civil war. But di kind approach wey some delusional audiovisual crowd dey use no good and e no go carry dem go anywhere,” he add.

 

As he dey refer to past politics, Shettima talk say grassroots strategy na key to success. He give example of how Shehu Musa Yar’Adua travel round di country dey build alliances.

 

He recall say when Lateef Jakande challenge Yar’Adua to popularity contest for Lagos streets, Yar’Adua tell am make he go meet Sarumi and others, as na dem and people like Bola Tinubu help deliver Lagos during primaries.

 

Shettima still talk say South-East get many better qualified candidates, pass who he call “Gringory.”

 

“I believe say even for South-East, better people dey to rule Nigeria,” he say.

 

He mention former Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, as one person wey understand different parts of di country well.

 

“He grow for North, he sabi Hausa well-well, and he don make money for North and Lagos. Anywhere for Nigeria, na him home,” Shettima explain.

 

He also praise former Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, say him performance stand out among leaders for di region.

 

“Call am provincial politician if you like, but no governor for South-East don perform pass Umahi. If you reach Ebonyi see di roads wey he build, you go understand say na serious leader,” he conclude.
