Jimbaz, Three Others Join ANSFA Board After Successful By-Election In Awka
Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, Board has come full steam after Thursday's bye-election that produced candidates to fill the erstwhile vacant four positions in the Board, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
At the end of what has become known and accepted as most 'credible, transparent and successful' poll at the East End Hotel, Awka, on Thursday, Michael Mbaezue who is fondly called 'Jimbaz', Ifejika Johnson a former President-General, PG, of Omor Community in Anambra North Senatorial zone, Donatus Ezeokafor and Mrs Ijeoma Nwosu emerged winners to join the Anambra State Football Association Board.
Their elections, thus, completes the full membership strenght of the Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi led board to nine (9) members.
The Board had operated with five members because of the four vacant seats.
The Electoral Committee Chairman, Hon Barr Uche Darlington, PhD, who announced the results, also administered the oath of office on the newly elected ANSFA Board members.
He similarly inaugurated them into office after their certificates of return were presented to them.
Rivers State Football Association Secretary, Omiete Edwin Tamuno,
served as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Observer during the election.
Barr Prince Uche Darlington Okeke PhD, Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association Electoral Committee, charged the new members of the board to ensure that they worked harmoniously with fellow board members towards taking Anambra football to greater heights through their developmental programs and activities.
The legal luminarian reminded the new ANSFA Board members that Football is a team game, hence they should all work together to achieve success.
At a brief meeting at the ANSFA Secretariat minutes after election, the Chief Priest in the temple of football in Anambra State, Chief Chikelue 'De General' Iloenyosi, welcomed the new members on board.
He urged them to work together for the good of the game in the state. The former Super Eagles defender reminded them that he runs an open door administration, urging anyone to fell free at all times to reach out to him on all issues at any time.
Raphael Nweke, Secretary of ANSFA, charged the LFC members to work together with the Mayor of their LGA and initiate programs in their areas while carrying the state FA along.
Olisa Onuchukwu, a former Nigeria international, described Iloenyosi as a Liberal minded person, warning the new members against gossiping and psycophancy.
