The lineup of African teams for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup has been finalised following the conclusion of the final qualification matches.

 

Nigeria, Cameroon, Zambia, and Ivory Coast have joined tournament hosts Morocco as Africa’s five representatives at the global event, which will be held from October 17 to November 8, 2025, in Morocco.

 

In the qualification fixtures:

• Nigeria secured their spot with a dominant 4-0 aggregate victory over Algeria after a goalless draw (0-0) in the second leg.

• Cameroon booked their ticket with a commanding 4-1 aggregate win against Kenya, sealing it with a 3-1 triumph in the second leg.

• Zambia also impressed, overturning Benin Republic 4-1 in the return leg to win 6-2 on aggregate.

• Ivory Coast advanced in dramatic fashion, progressing on the away goals rule despite losing 2-1 to Guinea in the second leg. With a 1-0 first-leg victory, the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate, but Ivory Coast moved on thanks to their crucial away goal.

 

The five teams — Morocco (hosts), Nigeria, Cameroon, Zambia, and Ivory Coast — will now shift their focus to preparing for the prestigious tournament, which promises to showcase the best of emerging talent in women’s football.

 

This year’s edition marks another significant step in Africa’s growing presence and competitiveness on the global youth football stage.
