A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), in Ondo State, Otunba Sylvester Ikuejamoye has joined  sympathizers, within and outside the state, to mourn the passing of Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi (Tuykana), who until his death on Saturday, was the Secretary to the Ondo State government.

In a release, entitled "The Altruism In Good People Don't Last", made available to reporters in Abuja, Otunba Ikuejamoye said he was pained that the late SSG, "breasted the irreversible last and final tape", in his prime.

He expressed deep sadness of irretrievably losing a "true friend", who many have attested to his qualities, like decency, humility, simplicity and forthrightness
that stands him out, in all the capacities he was privileged to serve in.

Otunba Ikuejamoye noted that he had closer ties with him, and got fascinated by these attributes, while working under the deceased as a member of the Ondo State Exco, of the Tinubu Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council, (ICC), during the 2023 Presidential election.

But by his sudden death, he has more than ever before, come to terms with the fact that "truly, good men hardly last".

Otumba Ikuejamoye , an astute Sports Administrator cum Politician, added that  even after the Presidential election,  they have maintained closer ties, and friendship built on trust, and mutual respect.

"Not a few will testify to his very humble disposition at all times. He was never carried away by the privileges of his office, nor by the level of his obvious high level contacts, and by the influence that naturally accords him recognition".

He described the late SSG as a calm, cool, dependable and a very respectful, gentleman and top notch administrator, whose qualities as  the engine room of the Ondo State government, endeared him to His Excellency Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

While commiserating with Governor Aiyedatiwa, Otunba Ikuejamoye joined many others in praying to God to grant his immediate family, and the State Government, the fortitude to bear the irreparable huge loss.

The late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi died at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, two weeks after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident.
