Meet NYG’s Youngest Athlete, Five-year-old Nahome Ehi
Ngowari Jewel Onengiye is the youngest athlete representing Rivers State at the on-going National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

Seven-year-old Ngowari, competed in the artistics category of gymnastics for girls but her performance was not enough to see her through to the final stages.

Born on the 22nd of March 2016, Jewel Onengiye, a Basic 4 pupil of Sureway International School, Elelenwo, was a badminton athlete before coaches advised her to switch over to gymnastics, which she did in January of this year.

Ngowari Jewel Onengiye who hails from Abonema in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State is in Asaba in the company of other Rivers athletes and her mum, Mye-Iyene Siri Onengiye, a female badminton coach.

Theirs is indeed a sports family because her older sister and only sibling, nine-year-old Ibiene Pearl Onengiye, a fellow artistic gymnast, is also part of the State contingent.
