The Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) produced thrilling action on Wednesday, April 1, as Matchday 13 delivered goals, surprises, and standout performances across all centres.

 

In Uyo, Ibom Angels edged Rivers Angels 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Marian Okocha in the 7th minute, keeping their title hopes alive.

 

Abia Angels continued their strong form in Aba, defeating Nasarawa Amazons 2-0 with strikes from Winner David (36’) and Chinaza Enuma (50’).

 

Bayelsa Queens caused an upset in Ibadan, defeating pacesetters Pacesetter Queens 1-0 through a late goal by Glory Edet in the 80th minute.

 

In Makwada, Adamawa Queens and Edo Queens played out a 1-1 draw. Atume Doosuur put Edo ahead in the 82nd minute, but Katon Waken equalized for Adamawa from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

 

Heartland Queens dominated Owerri, beating Naija Ratels 2-0 with goals from Faith Samson (PK, 24’) and Oluebube Umejiaku (33’).

 

FC Robo Queens secured a 2-0 home win against Dannaz Ladies in Lagos, courtesy of Opeyemi Ajakaye (7’) and Esther Onyenezide (43’).

 

Confluence Queens defeated Delta Queens 2-1 in Iyamho, with Ijeoma Ibe (55’) and Marvelous Ebube (78’) giving them a 2-0 lead before Temitope Aweda pulled one back for Delta (80’).

 

The biggest scoreline came from Ikenne, where Remo Stars Ladies dismantled Osun Babes 5-1. Hannah Ibrahim netted twice (9’, 24’), joined by Chiamaka Ojialor (22’), Blessed Isigbo (31’), and Kadijat Anifowoshe (41’), while Ebunoluwa Akinola scored for Osun.

 

Matchday 13 showcased the intensity and competitiveness of the NWFL, with top teams under pressure and title races heating up as the season progresses.
