Renowned actress and filmmaker Georgina Ibeh has spoken out against a growing trend in the Nigerian film industry where actors attempt to dictate casting decisions for her projects.

On November 12, 2024, Ibeh took to Instagram to express her frustration, sharing personal experiences with actors who make unacceptable demands before committing to her films.

"Recently, I've noticed a disturbing pattern," Ibeh said. "After negotiating payment, actors ask who's in the movie, which is normal. But some take it too far, suggesting cast members and conditioning their participation on using those specific actors."

Ibeh recounted an incident where she contacted an actress's management to discuss terms, only to be asked about the rest of the cast.

"I was shocked," she said. "If I don't use your preferred actor, you won't participate? I've tolerated enough in this industry."

Ibeh emphasized her stance:

"Let this nonsense stop! No one should try this with me or GI Films. If I hire you, act and go home. Don't dictate casting decisions!"

The actress's bold statement aims to assert her authority as a producer and maintain professional boundaries in the industry.
