The Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Abia State Directorate, Comrade Victor Orji, on Friday, 19th December 2025, participated as a key stakeholder in the meeting of the Abia State Taskforce on Healthcare, held in Umuahia and chaired by the Deputy Governor of Abia State.

 

The high-level meeting brought together relevant government officials, healthcare administrators, development partners, and other critical stakeholders to deliberate on strategies aimed at improving healthcare delivery and strengthening the state’s health system. Key discussions centered on collaboration, effective policy implementation, and enhanced community engagement to ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services for all residents of Abia State.

 

Speaking during the meeting, Comrade Victor Orji highlighted the critical role of the National Orientation Agency in health advocacy, public enlightenment, and behavioral change communication. He underscored the importance of NOA’s thematic sensitization programmes, noting that they play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles, preventive healthcare practices, and citizens’ active participation in government health initiatives.

 

The NOA Director further reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustained grassroots sensitization, strategic communication, and strong partnerships with the Abia State Government and other stakeholders. According to him, effective public awareness remains key to the successful implementation of healthcare policies and programmes across the state.

 

He assured the taskforce of NOA’s readiness to deploy its community-based structures to support health campaigns and ensure that accurate health information reaches citizens at the grassroots level.

 

The meeting emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in achieving sustainable healthcare outcomes and reaffirmed the collective resolve of all stakeholders to work together toward building a healthier Abia State.
