NNL MATCHDAY 3 PREVIEW: Week Of Redemption
Matchday Day 2 of the 2023 Nigerian National League season, no doubt brought out the best from all teams, as the best teams won in all the centres.
The star team of the week however went to Madiba FC who despite the gruesome accident on their way to Awka in the match against Edel, still went and ran away with an away win. There were two away in Lagos alone. Coach Seye Ajayi tutored Osun United defeated Tradesafe at home, while Crown came from behind to beat International Lagos in front of their home crowd. 33 goals were scored in 17 matches, with 2 goalless draws.
Match Day 3 will be another explosive week with the teams striving to consolidate on their standings on the league table.
Conference A
Dakkada vs Edel : This match will be a match of two aggrieved teams. Both teams lost their match day 2 games, with Eldel losing at home. Dakkada on their part are still struggling to find their feet in the season. No doubt, they will not leave any stone unturned to amass the three maximum points.
Rovers vs Smart City: Rovers of Calabar were a shadow of themselves when they played 1472 last weekend, but against another Lagos team, nothing will stop the Calabar boys from winning at the end of proceedings.
Vandrezzer vs 1472
Vandrezzer got more than they bargain when the came visiting Abeokuta last weekend. This week at home, they are condemned to win, to remain among the top flyers.
Ekiti Utd vs Stomers
The Stormers from Abeokuta have a tough nuts to crack in Ekiti. The home boys will not allow the points to slip.
Beyond Limit vs Coal
City
The beautiful grass at the Remo International Stadium will surely see the best of football this weekend. Beyond Limits will strive to take the game beyond Coal boys. The home boys will win this one.
Madiba vs Abia Comets
The star team of last weekend Madiba will have their hands full when they tackle a rejuvenated Abia Comets FC. The Coach Kevin Ejeh tutored boys from God's own state, will give them a run for their money. It's a match that anything can happen.
Conference B
Osun Utd vs Warri Wolves
The high flyers in the group will have a lot to battle for in Osogbo. The Warri Wolves will want to maintain a hundred percent record so far in the league, but the home team will not spare anything for them as long this encounter is concern.
Ijebu Utd vs Tradesafe
Tradesafe is taking their redemption battle to Ijebu this weekend. Having lost their last match at home, they may be disappointed at the end of 90 minutes.
Giant Brillar vs International Lagos
There will no place to hide for the International boys from Lagos. Giant Brillar will want to maintain their home invisibility.
Ikorodu city vs FC One Rocket
FC One Rocket is going to Lagos with boasting of a last week home win. Against Ikorodu City in Lagos, they may be return to Uyo empty.
Conference C
Wikki Tourists vs Elkanemi Warriors
Wikki Tourists are table toppers in the group. They are still riding on the five goals they scored in the first match against EFCC
Nasarawa United Vs Mighty Jets
Nasarawa United will be battling their next door neighbors for the maximum points. Both teams are yet to lose any match, and the Solid Miners will surely smile last.
NAF vs EFCC
Another local derby at the Area 10 Old Parade Ground pitch. It's a game of desperation, as both teams are yet to pick any maximum points this season. It would be a match that can go either way.
ABS vs Zamfara United
ABS will not spare Zamfara in Ilorin. But, they would have to careful of the United boys.
Conference D
Adamawa Utd vs City FC
Adamawa United will be hosting City FC of Abuja in Yola this weekend. City who won their last match at home against Mailantarki Cares, they will take a long trip to Yola to tackle Adamawa United. A win for the home team will be a boost to them.
Kebbi Utd vs Sokoto United
Sokoto United will take a short trip to Birni Kebbi to confront Kebbi United. Coach Mansur Abdullahi will no doubt come out of the encounter unhurt.
Mailantarki Care vs Sporting Supreme
This is another local derby. Mailantarki boys will need to dig deep before they would get anything from the Supreme boys who are poised to maintain a hundred percent record so far.
