The Orangun of Oke-Ila in Osun State, Oba (Dr.) Adedokun Abolarin, has called for collaboration between governments at sub-national levels and the federal government to develop sports in Nigeria. This call was made during his visit to the NTA Sports Channel at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Oba Abolarin emphasized that such collaboration would not only help sports thrive but also provide employment opportunities for millions of talented young Nigerians. He congratulated Kayode Adeniyi, the General Manager of NTA Sports Channel, on his new appointment and acknowledged the importance of sports in national development.

The Orangun of Oke-Ila was accompanied by other dignitaries, including the Olomu of Omu-Aran in Kwara State, Oba AbdulRaheem Oladele Adeoti Akolade Agboluaje, and Barrister Oguntayo Lateju Babatunde. Oba Abolarin's advocacy for sports development aligns with his commitment to education and youth empowerment, as evident in his founding of the Abolarin College, Oke-Ila-Orangun, Osun State, which provides free education to indigent children.

General Manager, NTA Sports, Kayode Adeniyi while appreciating the Special guests for their visit, appealed to them to play active role in developing sports at the grassroots which he described as the bedrock of Sports Development in Nigeria. 

The Obas were later taken around the master control room and studio, where they commended NTA management led by Comrade Director General, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, for the establishment of special television station to grow Sports in Nigeria
