Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of legendary Nigerian football coach Adegboye Onigbinde.

 

In a condolence message released on Thursday, Lulu Abdullahi described the late Onigbinde as one of the greatest pillars of Nigerian football whose contributions to the development of the game in the country would never be forgotten.

 

He said the death of the veteran tactician is a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to the entire Nigerian football community.

 

“Chief Onigbinde was a distinguished coach, administrator and mentor who dedicated his life to the growth of football in Nigeria. His passion, knowledge and commitment to developing young talents inspired many generations of players and coaches across the country,” Lulu Abdullahi said.

 

The former football administrator noted that the late coach played a vital role in shaping Nigerian football through his vast experience, discipline and deep understanding of the game.

 

He further stated that Onigbinde’s legacy would continue to serve as a guide for upcoming coaches and football administrators in Nigeria.

 

Lulu Abdullahi prayed that Almighty God would grant the family of the deceased the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while also asking God to grant the late coach eternal rest.

 

Onigbinde, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected football tacticians, made significant contributions to the development of the sport both at club and national team levels during his lifetime.
