Lagos State Football Association Launches Groundbreaking Coach Development Program

September 14, 2024, marked a significant milestone in Nigerian football history, particularly in Lagos State, as the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) in partnership with the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS) initiated a revolutionary coach development program. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of over 3,000 grassroots football coaches in Lagos State over the next few years.

The program commenced with an inaugural session at NIS, featuring a first batch of 100 enthusiastic coaches. Renowned football experts, including former Flying Eagles and U23 coach Fatai Amoo, ex-Nigeria international Dele Aiyenugba, and NIS Director-General Professor Olawale Moronkola, led the coaches through engaging practical and theoretical sessions.

This one-month special training course, scheduled to take place every Saturday, promises to be a game-changer for football development in Lagos State. By empowering local coaches with advanced knowledge and techniques, the program aims to elevate the standard of football in the region and potentially produce future stars.
