Jennifer Echegini Inspires PSG Women to 6–0 Preseason Rout Over Ajax

Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini has kicked off the new season in style, scoring the opening goal to help Paris Saint-Germain Women cruise to a commanding 6–0 preseason victory over Ajax Women at the PSG Campus.
The 24-year-old WAFCON 2024 champion set the tone early in the 11th minute with a sharp finish, marking her first goal of the preseason and reaffirming her growing influence at the French club.
PSG’s attacking display was ruthless from start to finish. Romee Leuchter doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, followed by a quickfire brace from Merveille Kanjinga (24’, 44’) that left Ajax reeling and the home side 4–0 up by halftime.
The second half saw no let-up from the Parisians. Leuchter bagged her second of the match in the 65th minute before substitute Anaïs Ebayilin rounded off the demolition with an 84th-minute strike.
Echegini, who made a strong impression in her debut season with PSG—scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 18 appearances—looks poised to build on that form in her second campaign. Her confident performance against Ajax underlined her readiness to play a key role in the team’s title ambitions.
Prior to her move to Paris, Echegini lit up Serie A with Juventus, where she registered 10 goals and one assist in just 14 games. Now fully settled at PSG, she is seen as one of the club’s key midfield assets heading into the new campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain will kick off their Division 1 Féminine season on September 6 against RC Lens, where Echegini will look to continue her bright start and lead the French giants to a strong opening performance.
