Francis Epe of Ikoyi Club, Lagos, has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the Acropolis Golf Tournament held at the expansive five-hole Acropolis Golf and Resort, Obijackson Boulevard, Okija, near Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Epe spoke after the one-day thrilling tournament which officially opened the massive and expansive Golf course officially.

He further hinted that the Acropolis Golf Tournament offered him a precious opportunity to visit Okija for the first time, hinting that it has clearly rubbished the hitherto negative narration of Okija which centered almost whole and entirely on 'Okija Shrine'.

"This is my first coming to Okija. But, over time, I've been hearing and reading about the 'Okija Shrine' for quite a long time now", starts Epe in a somewhat brief chat.

"But today, I've come, seen and behold something amazingly significant, something exceedingly delightful that is sure to keep Okija on top of the sporting (golf) and tourist map and I'm exceedingly impressed".

The Golf champions would go on to describe the Acropolis Golf Course as the 'best' nine-hole Course he has seen almost in the entire country.

"When I saw the Course, it was a very beautiful terrain and I told myself that as I'm here today, and as my first time playing in Okija, I'm going to set a Course record before leaving the place. And I'm happy I achieved that objective, winning the Pro event of the tournament.

"There's no doubt about the quality of the Golf Course. It's fantastic. The best nine-hole Course you can think of for now".

Epe exhuded joy that at the end of the day, he realised his pre tournament expectation.

"As a professional, already I'm the winner of the Pros Event today. So, my expection or dream has partly come true.

"And of course, I still have the expectation to leave Okija happier because of the (Acropolis) Course record I've set".
