HEADLINE: Obingwa LGA Inaugurates New Council Members

"We must ensure that we do our best to bring development in our society and right the wrongs of the previous administrations".
The above were the words Chief Eric Egwuibe Mayor of Obingwa Local Government of Abia State, on Friday during the inauguration ceremony of an 11 man transition committee council members in the LGA.
The event which was held at the council hall started with an opening prayer which was led by DSP Ugwumba, followed by the traditional kolanut formalities.
The swearing-in proper which included the oath of allegiance was administered by the LGA legal adviser Bar. Udah and was quickly followed with the signing and authentication of the councillors forms by the Mayor Chief Egwuibe.
In his speech titled a "A New Abia Is Here" the Mayor congratulated the councillors and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of their various communities and to serve the LGA with diligence and responsibility.
He also reminded them of the importance of integrity, capacity and selflessness in public service. He urged them to ensure that they put in their very best to see to the social, economic, cultural and political well being of Obingwa and he urged them to queue in to the rebranding mantra of this current government so as to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.

The event came to close with a vote of thanks by one of the council members Mr Chinedu Chijioke.
