Enyimba International Football Club have relieved Coach Stanley Eguma of his duties as Technical Adviser following a poor run of results in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). His assistants, Ndubuisi Nduka and Joseph Boma, were also directed to step aside with immediate effect.

 

Eguma, who joined the two-time African champions midway through last season, managed only one win, three draws, and four losses in his last eight matches. The poor run included two disappointing home defeats, culminating in Sunday’s NPFL matchday 13 loss to Wikki Tourist FC at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

 

The club’s management announced the decision after an emergency meeting held just hours after the defeat. In a letter issued to the coach, Enyimba described the move as part of a broader and ongoing review of the team’s dwindling performances.

 

As the club begins a comprehensive internal assessment and considers necessary adjustments, Assistant Coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has been appointed to take charge on an interim basis. He will oversee training sessions and prepare the squad ahead of their matchday 14 clash against Katsina United in Jos next Sunday.

 

Enyimba’s management says the shake-up is aimed at stabilising the team and restoring confidence as the season progresses.
