Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman Inducted as President of CPEB Alumni Association at University of Ibadan
Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman CEO of FSDH Infrastructure Debt Fund and a sustainable infrastructure development advocate, has been inducted as the President of the Alumni Association of the Department of Crop Protection and Environmental Biology (CPEB), University of Ibadan. The ceremony, held at the department’s seminar room on Thursday, also saw the induction of other alumni executives.
During the event, Professor Andrew Omojola, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, emphasized the critical role of alumni in enhancing university success. He urged Dr. Ibrahim to champion innovations that would modernize the department’s facilities.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ibrahim expressed gratitude and a deep sense of purpose, outlining his vision to create a collaborative alumni community that fosters mentorship, innovation, and resource-sharing. He emphasized building on the department’s legacy of academic and research excellence to enhance its global impact.
“It is time for us as alumni to actively drive innovation, support research, and enrich the department’s resources. Together, we can build a legacy of which we can all be proud,” Dr. Ibrahim stated.
Guest speaker Yusuf Issa, a natural health consultant, underscored the importance of herbal medicine in addressing illnesses like hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. He advocated for a return to nature, arguing that artificial lifestyles contribute significantly to modern health challenges.
With over 20 years of experience in sustainable infrastructure development, Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman has spearheaded transformative projects in Nigeria, including the Lagos Bus Mass Transit Reform Programme and Lekki Ikoyi Link Bridge. A Certified Public-Private Partnership Specialist, he has advised public and private sectors on resilient infrastructure strategies.
Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Department of Crop Protection and Environmental Biology at the University of Ibadan and recently earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Management from the University of Port Harcourt.
The induction marks the beginning of a new era for the CPEB Alumni Association, as Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman and his team aim to elevate alumni engagement and advance the department’s contributions to crop protection and environmental biology.
