Christian Obi, a former Nigeria goalkeeper and now Head Coach of Heartland of Owerri, has spoken in no unclear language the Naze Millionaires escape from relegation is 'possible', Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Obi spoke on the back of his team's 3-0 thrashing of Gombe United in a 'dead-rubber' NPFL Match Day 33 fixture inside the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, on Sunday.

Promise Anyanwu opened the scoring on the half hour mark as the five time winners went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Chukwudi Esobe doubled the home team's lead just four minutes after the half time break while Anyanwu headed home the third goal, his second on the night, with only two minutes remaining on the clock.

And a visibly delighted Obi said the victory will boost the confidence of the players going into the final five games of the season.

"When a win of such magnitude comes, the team's confidence comes up more. It gives hope and we'll continue to work hard and fight for every single point in the remaining matches", the soft spoken Obi said.

Obi would go on to give reasons his team put up a low performance in the opening half.

"It was a bit of shift from our earlier game plan on the part of the players but after the half time Pep talks, they came fully back to their strides and you could see the result".

Heartland have 15 points to play for in the re.aining season. They will need to pluck the maximum points in the remaining games and hope for Bayelsa United and Doma United to stumble on they for them (Heartland), to leapfrog.

The dark-skinned gaffer refused stop believing.

"Nothing is impossible. We'll keep on fighting even till the end. It's no retreat, no surrender. We believe with God, we can do it", Obi sounded shrewdly optimistic.
