National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has responded to recent remarks made by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, urging the public to disregard El-Rufai’s statements against him.

In a statement , Ribadu said he felt compelled to respond to El-Rufai’s comments to avoid his silence being misinterpreted as agreement. However, he emphasized his unwillingness to engage in a public feud, citing respect for their past association and their families.

Ribadu also denied any plans to run for president in 2031, clarifying that his sole focus is on his current role and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He urged El-Rufai to let him concentrate on his national responsibilities, stating, “I do not bother myself with his own affairs.”

Despite what he described as “incessant baiting and attacks,” Ribadu maintained that he has never spoken ill of El-Rufai and would not start now.
