Nigerian footballer Ambrose Chidi Isaiah has recently arrived in Serbia, where he is set to undergo trials with a First Division Serbian club. The 20-year-old left-back, who hails from Chimoski Academy, was identified as a promising talent by renowned international football agent Tihomir Sloboda during a scouting mission in Katsina.

Chidi touched down in Serbia on Saturday, and his trial period with the unnamed Serbian club is scheduled to begin on Thursday. The young defender aims to follow the path of his compatriot, Samson Olasupo, who made a strong impression during his trials with FK Radnički Sremska Mitrovica, another Serbian side.

Tihomir Sloboda, who played a pivotal role in facilitating Chidi’s move, spoke highly of the player’s attitude and adaptability since arriving in Serbia. According to Sloboda, Chidi has embraced the opportunity not only to showcase his footballing skills but also to immerse himself in the local culture. Serbia, known for its stunning landscapes like Đavolja Varoš with its unique rock formations, and its rich culinary traditions including meat dishes, cheeses, and pastries, has been a welcoming environment for the young Nigerian.

Sloboda expressed his optimism about Chidi’s prospects, noting that the player has shown a keen interest in understanding the Serbian way of life, which could help him integrate more easily into the team environment. Sloboda believes that this cultural awareness, combined with Chidi’s footballing abilities, will give him an edge during the trials.
