Alansmith Nigeria Limited has received strong commendation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for its work on the FC Ebedei Stadium in Sagamu, Ogun State, a development that further strengthens the company’s standing as a leading sports facility construction brand in Nigeria.

 

The commendation followed a recent inspection visit by a high-powered CAF delegation to the FC Ebedei Stadium, one of the venues proposed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to host the final phase of the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship.

 

The CAF inspection team was led by Omar Amr (Safeguarding) and included Fatima Elmissaoui (ASFC Officer), Herve Dassoundo (Marketing and Branding), Mahmoud Amer (Travel and Logistics), Diabate Zakarhiya (Safety and Security), Hend Thabet (Travel and Accommodation), as well as the Executive Director of WAFU B, Philippe Tchere.

 

Speaking after the inspection, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Alansmith Nigeria Limited, Joshua Adamu, expressed satisfaction with the positive feedback from CAF, describing it as validation of the company’s commitment to quality and excellence.

 

“We’re delighted with the good comments from the CAF inspection team that visited the FC Ebedei Stadium. It confirms Alansmith’s high standards of quality and project execution for our clients,” Adamu said.

 

He explained that the playing surfaces installed at the stadium meet international standards and were subjected to rigorous testing before installation.

 

“The turfs we installed on the FC Ebedei pitches were tested in Europe. The specifications allow for speed, ball bounce and ankle movement for players, all tested and proven to be accurate,” he noted.

 

According to Adamu, the stadium features a 60mm FIFA-standard artificial turf, complete with a shock pad and French drainage system, designed to enhance player comfort and ensure quick water evacuation during wet conditions.

 

“This combination allows for a good feel of the ball and fast drainage during rainy conditions,” he added.

 

The 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship final phase is expected to be the biggest since the competition was launched in 2022. A total of 24 teams will participate, comprising eight boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams from across Africa, alongside eight invited teams from another FIFA confederation.

 

With CAF’s positive assessment of the FC Ebedei Stadium, stakeholders believe the facility stands a strong chance of being selected as a host venue, further showcasing Nigeria’s growing capacity to deliver world-class football infrastructure.
