An autopsy has revealed the cause of death of fast-rising Afrofuji singer, Destiny Boy, bringing clarity to the questions that followed his sudden passing.

The young artiste died on January 17, 2026, in a situation that raised concern among fans and the public. 

After his death, videos circulated online showing his body being taken to a mortuary, which led to different claims about what may have happened.

In the days that followed, someone close to him shared a video, explaining that the singer had been dealing with a health issue before his death and that efforts were made to help him, but he did not survive.

About two months later, fresh findings showed that the police homicide unit carried out an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The report was released roughly a week ago.

Police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the development on Friday while speaking with reporters.

According to the report, toxicology tests found dangerous levels of tramadol and its by-products in his system, along with methamphetamine. 

Medical experts involved in the examination concluded that he died from aspiration pneumonitis caused by taking these substances.

The report also confirmed that his death occurred on January 17, 2026, bringing an official end to the uncertainty surrounding the case.
