Army Massacre Scores Of IPOB Members In Owerri
Men of the Nigerian military yesterday raided the home of chief J.C Unoma in Owerri, Imo State during a meeting of some very senior members of the movement.
According to eyewitnesses, a meeting of some leaders of the IPOB was ongoing at Chief Unoma’s house when the military men forced their way in and tried to arrest some members. This attempt was said to have met fierce resistance from the IPOB members. Peeved, the military started shooting. Many persons were either injured or killed. The number of those affected has not been confirmed as the army took the bodies of those killed or wounded away.
The army had last month launched “Operation Python Dance”2” in the five southeastern states; An operation they say is aimed to rid the region of elements of the criminal group. Calls and messages to the spokesperson of Operation Python Dance, Col.Azinge, have not been responded to as of the time of reporting.
