Ariyo’s Brace Secures Second Place and UEFA Qualification for KuPS
Nigeria forward Roosa Ariyo showcased her talent with two goals for KuPS, leading them to a 2-0 victory over HPS and concluding the Finnish top-flight season on a high note.
Ariyo opened the scoring in the seventh minute, converting from an assist by Tao Stark at the JYA Housing Arena in Helsinki. She then extended the lead in the 53rd minute, with Brazil’s Paulinha providing the setup.
After playing 72 minutes, Ariyo was substituted for Lavdije Begolli. She finished the season with eight goals and one assist in 12 league matches.
Her contributions were crucial in securing second place in the standings with 49 points, trailing champions HJK by 13 points. This runner-up finish also earned KuPS a spot in the UEFA second club competition, set to begin in the 2025/2026 season.
Ariyo, who returned to Finland after stints with Costa Adeje Tenerife and Club Brugge, found her scoring form with the Finnish vice champions.a
