The Board Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, has confirmed Raphael Nweke As the substantive Secretary of the state, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Nweke has been in acting capacity since his appoint on the arrival of Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, a former Super Eagles defender, as the Chairman of the the board.

At its Executive Board meeting Wednesday morning in Awka, the Anambra State Capital, Nweke's hard work and tireless services was brought to the fore. And in keeping with the maximum that 'reward for hard work is more work', Nweke was unanimously given a firm confirmation for his 'excellent' performance in the engine room of the football temple in the state.

Chief Chikelue 'D'General' Iloenyosi was as well pleased with the services so far rendered by the Secreary.

"I'm happy that Ralph (Nweke) has received the reward for his hard work so far. I'm grateful to the Board and I believe his confirmation today is a call to more service by the Secretary", Iloenyosi said.

At the time of this report, the communique of the board meeting was still being drafted.

Recall that the by-election to fill the four vacant positions in the Board was held on January 15 while the election into the Local Football Councils in the state was held on 14 January.

The Anambra State Football Association Congress will hold on Friday, 6 February, 2026, in Awka.
