Dakkada FC’s promising start to the NNL season took a slight hit as they played out a dramatic 1-1 draw against Warri Wolves at the Uyo Township Stadium. The clash was packed with action, leaving fans on the edge of their seats throughout.

The home side began strongly, dominating possession and creating multiple chances. However, their wastefulness in front of goal proved costly when Dakkada captain Samuel Akpan inadvertently turned a Wolves free-kick into his own net in the 18th minute, handing the visitors a shock lead.

From that point, Dakkada controlled proceedings, relentlessly pressing for an equalizer. Anietie Uko came close with a long-range effort, and Ubong Solomon missed a golden one-on-one opportunity just before halftime.

The introduction of Erikan Francis at halftime transformed Dakkada’s attack. Making his first appearance of the season, the former NNL Best Player was a constant menace to the Wolves’ defense. His persistence paid off in the 74th minute when Wolves defender Innocent Orukpe handled the ball in the box, earning a penalty. Erikan coolly converted, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to level the score.

Despite intense pressure in the final minutes, Dakkada failed to find a winner, with the game ending 1-1. The result leaves Dakkada on two points from two games, while Warri Wolves move to four points.

Looking ahead, Dakkada will travel to Enugu to face Ijele SC on Matchday 3 next Thursday, while Warri Wolves host Igbajo United at the Ozoro Polytechnic Stadium on Sunday.
