Abia State Welfare Association Gwagwalada Abuja at the weekend celebrated a Thanksgiving day to mark the 32 years that the state was created. 

It could be a recalled that Abia State was created alongside other state by the General Ibrahim Babangida administration on August 27, 1991. 

The yearly Thanksgiving ceremony in Gwagwalada Abuja started with a church service at Divine Call Gospel Church Lokoja-Abuja Highway Gwagwalada and Visits to various motherless babies in Gwagwalada. The event climax with a get together party at the Association's monthly meeting. 

Speaking at the end of the events, the President of Abia State Welfare Association, Gwagwalada Abuja Branch Mr Chibuike Moses  expressed his sincere gratitude to the members for their unwavering contributions towards the success of the programme. 

Quoting his words, he said "your efforts, whether it was your generous donations, valuable presence, or unwavering moral support, have truly left an indelible mark on this remarkable event. You have not only made this year's Abia day a memorable occasion, but have ignited a renewed sense of determination within us all to strive for a better Abia".

He used the opportunity to call on other Abians in Gwagwalada who are yet to join the Association to make haste to join the moving train  "to those of you that are yet to joined us in this journey to build the Abia of our dreams, we wholeheartedly appeal to you to come aboard and share in our vision. Together, let us work towards creating a brighter future for Abia, a future that embodies growth, progress, prosperity, love and unity" he concluded.
