"Without Legal Documents, You're On Your Own : Bosso Tells Boboye

Following the recent pronouncement by Governor of Imo State ,Hope Uzodinma directing the Management of Heartland Football Club to put an end to Boboye's rescue mission on the club and ordered the return of the immediate past handler of the Owerri based outfit, Christian Obi, the President of Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Dr Ladan Bosso has clarified that there is little or nothing the association could do to assist their colleague without legal document. He pointed out that they have warned their members not to engage in any job without completing the legal aspect of the job.

Former Under 20 Coach stated this on Friday while featuring in a leading WhatsApp Sports group in Nigeria, *Sports World Platform* during Super Interview session co hosted by Ibadan based Sports journalist, *Sunday Agunbiade popularly known as Mr VAR* and his counterpart from Sports Ville journalist, Lagos, *Wale Oye* . The former Wikki Tourists gaffer reiterated that they have said it time without number on their coaches Platform that no Coach should engage in any task that has no documentary evidence

Asking the question sent in by Coach Waheed Bello of Crown FC Ogbomosho, the FIFA Lience coach said: "It's clearly stated in Coaching Association Platform that no coach should involve in any assignment that has no legal backing to avoid story that touches.

Bosso added that "We have warned Nigerian coaches to always sign contracts first and send it to Federation for documentation before they  commence any official assignment with clubs in case of any unwarranted circumstances"

"We coaches are the problems of ourselves. In the first place, we have made it clear that before they sign any contract, they must carry their lawyers along . At least, we have up to 7 lawyers in Coaches Association now who are even practicing coaches handling this kind of issues. There are lots of testimonies to that effect. For example, Coach Henry Abiodun who had the same problem in Sunshine Stars and when our lawyers took them up based on contract, he got his money back within 3 months and was paid instalmentally.

The same thing Kabiru Dogo when he was fired in Nasarawa and we fought for him , he got his dues. A coach must have a legal backing domiciled with club and Federation for anyone to have a talking point.

There is nothing we can do to coaches who don't have a legal backing. Most of the coaches rush into getting a job without completing a legal aspect of it. I made sure I collected at least 50% of my sign on fee with Ifeanyi Ubah , Wikki Tourists, Bayelsa Utd before I commenced the job and some even were made to pay 70% before I start. My team of lawyers handle it and you can't see me crying foul even if they fire me afterwards". The former U20 AFCON winning coach concluded.
