The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has boldly declared that no past administration in the history of Abuja has achieved the level of development and transformation being recorded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking during an inspection tour of key ongoing projects in the FCT, Wike expressed satisfaction with the pace and scale of infrastructure delivery across the territory. He described the achievements as “unprecedented”, and threw a challenge to critics and political opponents to present any historical evidence of a superior performance within a similar timeframe.

“I want to challenge anybody who will say that in the history of the FCT, in any administration, someone has beaten this record of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the minister stated emphatically.

Wike outlined several high-impact projects either completed or nearing completion, including the rehabilitation of major roads, expansion of key highways, construction of bridges, and the revamp of public amenities. He emphasized that development efforts were not confined to the city centre but had reached satellite towns and previously neglected rural communities, reflecting the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and urban renewal.

“Our goal is to make Abuja a model city that truly represents the pride of the nation,” he said. “What we are doing today is what others failed to do for years.”

According to the minister, the renewed infrastructure push is a testament to the practical impact of the Tinubu-led administration’s policies, grounded in transparency, efficient project execution, and accountability.

Wike also commended President Tinubu for granting the FCT a statutory mandate for greater autonomy, which he said has empowered the ministry to accelerate development and deliver tangible results more efficiently.

While acknowledging that more remains to be done, Wike insisted that the administration’s current trajectory proves that the Renewed Hope Agenda is more than a slogan — it is a working blueprint for real transformation.
