"What I Told President Tinubu At Aso Rock "... Dangote

Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Group, recently met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. During the meeting, Dangote assured President Tinubu that his refinery can provide 30-32 million liters of fuel for local production, sufficient to meet the country's needs for 12 days even if importation and production were to stop.

Dangote emphasized his refinery's readiness, stating, "We are very ready, we are more than ready. We have 500 million liters in our tanks." He urged retailers to come forward and collect the fuel, noting that keeping such large quantities in storage is costly, equivalent to losing 32% interest daily.

The Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, highlighted that the meeting aimed to review the implementation of crude oil sales in the local currency. This move follows President Tinubu's directive to sell crude to Dangote Refinery in Naira, expected to stabilize fuel prices and the exchange rate.

This development is part of the federal government's efforts to address economic challenges, with Dangote and other industry leaders contributing to the Economic Advisory Committee established by President Tinubu ².
