Enyimba FC’s Under-19 team celebrated their first victory in the ongoing Nigeria National Under-19 League, securing a hard-fought 1-0 win against Lagos-based R2 Finesse.
After the match, Enyimba's coach, Joe Akuma, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance. "Honestly, it wasn’t an easy game. Our opponents came with the intention of taking something from the match, but I’m glad we fought hard and were rewarded with three points. We thank God for that," he said.
When questioned about his team's missed opportunities, Coach Akuma responded, "As the coach, I know what needs to be done. We will address it during training, and hopefully, we will get it right in our next game."
He also reassured fans of the team's determination to perform better and collect points in their upcoming matches, making up for their earlier loss.
Enyimba's Under-19 team will face Bayelsa United FC in their next fixture, a week three clash in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, scheduled for Tuesday.
