The 29-year-old midfielder, deployed as a lone striker, showcased her creativity and precision from the start. Kelly Gago put Everton ahead just five minutes into the game, but Leicester quickly responded, with Shannon O’Brien equalizing in the 15th minute to send both teams into halftime level at 1-1.

After the break, Payne took control. Just four minutes into the second half, she set up Katja Snoeijs to restore Everton’s lead. She later assisted Gago’s second goal, capping off an emphatic performance after Hanoka Hayashi had already extended the advantage in the 57th minutes.
