Reigning Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has revealed why she deleted her Twitter account amidst controversy surrounding her nationality and pageant victory.

In an interview with Arise 360, Adetshina said the constant negative feedback affected her mental health, forcing her to leave the platform.

"I read every comment, and it became too toxic for me... I don't want people to go through something for supporting me," she explained.

Adetshina faced backlash for her participation in the Miss South Africa pageant and later won the Miss Universe Nigeria title, with some calling her victory "pity-based."
