The Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) Football Directorate has approved the appointments of Football Coordinators for states in Nigeria’s North Central Zone and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, as part of preparations for the TSO National Football Tournament scheduled for April 2026.

 

The appointments, made in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, were announced by the North Central Zonal Coordinator of the TSO and Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Mr. Solomon Babanjah.

 

According to the list released, retired Director of Information from the Nasarawa State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and Patron of Akwanga All Stars FC, Mr. Danmusa Mohammed Oweh, has been appointed as Coordinator for Nasarawa State.

 

Former Chairman of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi and current Permanent Secretary at the Benue State Ministry of Youth, Sports and Creativity, Dr. Philip Ter Nongu, will serve as Benue State Coordinator. The General Manager of Plateau United FC, Barrister Gideon Atu Izang, has been named Coordinator for Plateau State.

 

Shaibu Yakubu will oversee activities in Niger State, while Muhammad Abdullahi will coordinate Kogi State. Dele Abubakar (MON) has been appointed as Kwara State Coordinator, and Mr. Patrick Ngwaogu will serve as Coordinator for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

 

The appointments take immediate effect.

 

Under their mandates, the Coordinators will supervise the implementation of the TSO Football Project in their respective states. They are expected to liaise with local football teams and stakeholders to assemble formidable state teams for the zonal elimination rounds, with successful teams advancing to the national finals to compete against winners from the other five geopolitical zones of the country.

 

Beyond tournament preparations, the Coordinators are also tasked with organizing coaching clinics, refereeing courses, and administrative workshops aimed at strengthening grassroots football management structures. The initiative is equally designed to use sports as a platform for community outreach, youth engagement, and civic participation.

 

The TSO Football Project is positioned as a vehicle for talent discovery, promotion of social cohesion, and deepening of community engagement, in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

 

Dates and venues for the zonal playoffs and the national finals are expected to be announced in due course.
