Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe claimed their first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over hosts and former champions AS FAR in El Jadida, Morocco.

Marlene Kasaj’s early penalty in the opening 10 minutes proved decisive in the tense final at Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi, as Mazembe’s resilient defense held firm to secure the historic win. The victory marked a dramatic turnaround for the team after their group-stage exit in 2022.

Despite the support of a passionate home crowd, AS FAR struggled to break down Mazembe’s disciplined backline, leaving their quest for a second title unfulfilled.

Mazembe’s triumph also came with a $600,000 prize, while AS FAR, as runners-up, earned $400,000. The DR Congo side’s historic win cements their place as the new queens of African women’s club football.
