The Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) on Tuesday inaugurated a National Director of Football and coordinators for the six geo-political zones of Nigeria during a brief but colourful ceremony held at Toprank Hotel.

 

The Director General of the organisation, Aminu Sulaiman, who performed the inauguration, said the appointments were part of TSO’s efforts to promote sports development and showcase Nigeria’s budding football talents ahead of a planned national football tournament in honour of the country’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

Sulaiman charged the newly inaugurated officials to work diligently to ensure the success of the tournament, noting that the initiative aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at youth empowerment and national development.

 

According to him, sports remain a vital tool for nation-building and unity, adding that the proposed TSO National Football Tournament would provide a platform for young talents across the country to display their abilities.

 

He explained that the competition would feature teams from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, beginning with zonal elimination rounds.

 

Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated officials, the TSO National Director of Football and General Manager of Kwara United FC, Bashir Badawiy, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the organisation for the confidence reposed in them.

 

Badawiy pledged that the team would bring their wealth of experience to bear in ensuring the successful organisation of the tournament, adding that preparations would begin immediately.

 

He noted that one of the key objectives of the competition is to discover raw football talents from the grassroots who can develop into national and international stars.

 

The inaugurated zonal coordinators include Solomon Babanjah (North Central), Alhaji Abubakar (North East), Abuhuraira Dahiru (North West), Mojeed Adegbindin (South West), Paul Ojo Omamomo (South South), and Nnamdi Charles Chukwuemeka (South East).

 

April 2026 is tentatively scheduled for the commencement of the TSO Football Tournament across the six geo-political zones.

 

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of letters of appointment to the newly inaugurated officials and members of the media team by the Director General of the Tinubu Support Organisation.
