Prince Mathew Kolawole, the immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, believes President Bola Tinubu needs more time to settle into office due to the country's economic challenges.

In an interview, Kolawole stated that Tinubu inherited a "rotten economic system" and requires time to address past issues. He urged Nigerians to be patient, as the president works to implement reforms that may be difficult in the short term but will ultimately benefit the nation.

Kolawole also discussed the face-off between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello. He thinks it's unfortunate that Bello, who has contributed significantly to the All Progressive Congress (APC), is being targeted. Kolawole emphasized that Bello's aspirations for higher office shouldn't be a reason for persecution and that his support for Tinubu after losing the presidential primary demonstrates his commitment to the party.

He said that Yahaya Bello  has sacrificed a lot for the APC and should not be persecuted. Kolawole believes Bello's persecution is orchestrated by those in power who fear his rising influence.

Overall, Kolawole expressed optimism about Tinubu's administration, citing visible developments in some areas and the potential for future growth and prosperity.
