Tinubu Approves ₦10 Billion for Youth Development In FCT
President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for a N10 billion Youth Development Fund to empower youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This announcement was made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, during the inauguration of the upgraded War College/Army Checkpoint Road and other ancillary roads in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, Abuja.
According to Wike, this fund is part of the current administration's youth empowerment policy and was made possible due to President Tinubu's priority on women and youth development. This move is historic, as it marks the first time a Women Affairs Secretariat and Youth Development Secretariat have been created in the FCT, with a youth appointed to head the youth Secretariat.
The N10 billion fund is meant to support youth growth and development, and has been included in the FCT's supplementary budget. Wike encouraged residents, especially the youth, to continue supporting the Tinubu-led administration, promising that things will get better.
This development is part of President Tinubu's efforts to empower youths, following his approval of the creation of youth development secretariats in July and the appointment of Abdullahi Ango as the pioneer Mandate Secretary in August.
