This Is The Result That We Expected, We're Ready For The Quarter Final Matches -------Imo Strikers Assistant Coach, Ada Uchegbu
Ada Uchegbu, Assistant Coach of Imo Strikers, has disclosed that their 4-0 thumping of Zohar Football Academy in the final group A match of the ongoing Judith Chime Championship holding in Enugu, 'is the kind of result they expected', Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Imo Strikers ran goal riot in their match against Zohar with four players getting their names on the scorers sheet.
Osinachi Ugbala and Amarachi Mmesoma handed the title holders a 2-0 first half lead with Oparamegwa Pathra and Nkwocha Precious scoring the third and fourth goal respectively in the second period.
And coach Ada Uchegbu, who stands on the touchline whenever head coach, Nelly Orisakwe, was indisposed, made it clear this was the kind of result they always expect in every single game.
"I'm happy with the win. I'm glad with the result because this is the kind of result we always expect and work hard for", the young tactician said.
Wednesday's result at College of Immaculate Conception, CIC field, Enugu, was a clear departure from their Monday's lethargic 2-0 win against Rising Stars of Ojoto, Anambra State.
It catapults the 'Owerri Girls' to the knock out stages and the youngest coach in the tournament said the players confidence is restored and that she was optimistic that they will overcome whoever their quarter final foes are.
"I think the team is better now than in our first game. The confidence is back and I've no doubt we'll win our quarter final match".
She commended organisers of Judith Chime Championship 2024 for putting the tournament together so that the girls would have opportunity to develope and make a career in the game.
"I'm happy with the organisers. They are doing a good job. Atleast, this Championship gives opportunity for the girls to improve on their skills, become better players and make a living from playing the game", she concluded.
