Actress and media personality Teni Aladese has opened up about women, self-discovery, and marriage during a recent episode of the That’s What She Said podcast.

 

She explained that many women move directly from their family homes into their “husband’s house” without truly understanding themselves or knowing what they want in a partner. According to Aladese, this lack of self-awareness often leads to surprise and frustration once they are married.

 

She noted that women can be shocked by behaviours and mannerisms they have “never experienced before,” especially if they have not spent time discovering their own preferences and boundaries. She added that many women do not know what they like or the traits they desire in a partner, which can make navigating marital life challenging.

 

Aladese stressed that living alone before marriage allows women to explore their preferences, set boundaries, and figure out the “nonsense you’ll take and not take.” This, she said, helps women approach marriage with more clarity and confidence, knowing what they will or will not tolerate in a partner.

 

Her comments have sparked discussions online about the importance of independence, personal growth, and self-awareness before entering into marriage.
