Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has expressed confidence that his team will be fully prepared for their quarter-final clash against Zambia at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

 

Nigeria topped Group B to secure their place in the knockout stage, and will now face Zambia, who finished second in Group A, at the Stade Larbi Zaouli on Friday.

 

Zambia, also known as the Copper Queens, have been one of the standout teams in the tournament, netting six goals and conceding four. Their attacking duo, captain Barbra Banda and Rachel Kundananji, have been in electric form, earning praise for their speed and lethal finishing in front of goal.

 

Despite the threat posed by Zambia’s forwards, Madugu insists the Super Falcons will not be fazed.

 

“We have our strategy. We’ve studied them closely. We know what they’re capable of,” he said during a press conference.

 

“We’re not too concerned about individual brilliance — it’s a team game. We’ll work on neutralising their strengths.”

 

The Super Falcons, who are aiming for another continental title, have shown strong form so far and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in Morocco.
