As the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifers draws closer, three times African Champions The Super Eagles of Nigeria, will kick off their qualification campaign  at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo on matchday 1 in a tie against Lesotho on November 13 2023

The Super Eagles have South Africa, Lesotho, Benin Republic, Zimbabwe and Rwanda as their group opponents as they attempt to earn automatic qualification for what will be the biggest FIFA World Cup yet.

Nigeria will end the ten-matchdays long World Cup qualification journey with a home game vs neighbors Benin Republic in October 2025.


The Super Eagles of Nigeria has previously taken part in six FIFA World Cup tournament (1994,1998,2002,2010,2014 & 2018), the team agonizingly missed out from participating at the last tournament in 2022  held in Qatar after losing to the Black Stars of Ghana on away goals rule.
