Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has reportedly reached out to Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy, urging him to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.

Murphy, who represented England at youth level, is eligible to play for Nigeria through his father. Despite being 29, he has yet to earn a senior cap, making him a viable option for the Super Eagles.

As Nigeria prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, Chelle is looking to bolster his squad with experienced talent.
