STARTIMES/NPFL: Organizers Hand Out Severe N10m Sanctions On Enyimba After Rangers Match Incident

Organisers of the Nigeria top flight, NPFL, has has handed out an incredible N10m sanctions on Enyimba in the aftermath of the ugly incident that overshadowed their match day 35 Oriental Derby versus Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday, 9 June, 2024, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
In a Summary Jurisdiction dated 10 June, 2024 and signed by Davidson Owumi, Chief Operating Officer, NPFL, the league organising body cited several portions of its rules and framework allegedly breached by the People's Elephant and two-time CAF Champions League title winners.
A breakdown of the figure shows that the nine-time NPFL winners shows that the club was fined N5m for allegedly disrupting a match being televised live by the League's Broadcast Right Owners.
They were also fined an additional N2m for allegedly disrupting and discontuing the match.
The Summary Jurisdiction cited by Exclusivenews.com.ng imposed N1m on the club for an alleged 'improper conduct of the team', another N1m an alleged throwing of objects unto the pitch by Enyimba's Fans and Supporters as well as another N1m an alleged encroachment.
The Summary Jurisdiction which is now in possession of Exclusivenews.com further awarded the three points and three goals acruable from the match to Rangers.
The Summary Jurisdiction gave Enyimba 48 hours accept the sanctions or to appeal to the Organising and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
