It was a joyful and spirit-filled moment at St. Bartholomew Cathedral of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) as parishioners gathered in unity for this year’s Harvest Thanksgiving Service.

 

The celebration began with a solemn procession into the chapel, accompanied by hymns and chants that echoed the spirit of worship and gratitude. As the congregation sang in one accord, the atmosphere reflected the words of Psalm 122:1 — “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.”

 

The service featured scripture readings taken from Job 1 and 2 Timothy 2:1–9, both emphasizing faith, perseverance, and thanksgiving in times of trial.

 

In his message, the officiating minister encouraged worshippers to remain steadfast in faith and to continue offering gratitude to God through both service and giving.

 

The event also featured special musical performances, choir renditions, and a cultural harvest presentation that showcased the rich heritage and traditions of the Eastern region. The colorful display of traditional attire and dance added a festive touch to the solemn service, highlighting the unity and diversity of the Anglican community.

 

Parishioners expressed joy and fulfillment at being part of the celebration, describing it as a time of renewal, thanksgiving, and togetherness in the presence of God.
