One Nigerian soldier and one Police Inspector, Akowe Joel, don dey arrested for stealing customized batteries from di Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC). Dem also arrest one staff member of di Railway Corporation. Sahara Reporters talk say police signal show say di three of dem dey caught for 3 pm on March 19, 2025, for Kaduna by troops of Sub-Sector 4, Operation FANSAN YAMMA. 

Dis operation be joint military theatre command wey dem establish to tackle insecurity for di North-West. Dis arrest come months after two Nigerian Army personnel, CPL Innocent Joseph and L/CPL Jacob Gani, dey dismissed after dem steal armoured cables for Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

Nigerian Army spokesperson, Maj-Gen. Nwachukwu Onyema, confirm say di two soldiers abandon dem duty post and dey in possession of 897 armoured cables materials wey no be dem own. Dem hand dem over to relevant authorities for further prosecution. Onyema talk say di Nigerian Army no dey tolerate misconduct and criminality within dem ranks, and dat na why dem dismiss di two soldiers.
